More than Food

Our foodbank is running a More Than Food Program. This means that we are providing additional support alongside emergency food, to help people address the underlying issues behind their crisis.

Our foodbank works in partnership with professionals who can offer you additional help in the following areas:

Sewing Projects

English for Refugees

Advocacy and Advice Service

Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
Networking and Coffee Morning (Fresh Food Friday)
Budgeting and Money Management

Counselling

Befriending Service

We are partnering with KD Lifestyle Enterprise to provide more support for the community and help them into employment.

KDL specialists work to help members of our community by:

  • Giving careers advice
  • Helping with interview techniques
  • Putting CVs together
  • Working with Microsoft to deliver free digital skills training for our residents
  • Providing support in finding employment and training

Personalised support packages help people overcome obstacles and gain the skills they need. KDL helps people to enter or return to the workplace and fulfil their potential.

Rainham Foodbank Announced as a Loved and wanted Community Space Here

Rainham Foodbank has been named as one of 30 Community Spaces across London supported by the Mayor of London and The National Lottery Community Fund, through the Loved and Wanted Community Fund.

The funding forms part of the Mayor of London’s Loved and Wanted Here programme, a London-wide initiative designed to strengthen community relationships, increase belonging, and ensure all Londoners feel valued, welcomed and supported — regardless of background.

As a Community Space supported by the Mayor of London and The National Lottery Community Fund, Rainham Foodbank will deliver activities under the Loved and Wanted Here banner to bring people together, improve access to vital services, and create opportunities for residents to connect and participate in local life. more…
