Basic Functional Skills
Basic skills are the key skills you need in study and in employment, and include Maths, English and employability skills.
You may hear them called Skills for Life. We also use these to learn other skills. You need them to:
- Get a job, and stay in employment
- Look after your family and possessions.
- Live on your own or look after your home
Teaching accredited Functional Skills Level 1 and 2 in English and Maths through digital and face to face lessons.
- We will be offering a fast-track Level 2 English and Maths programme of delivery
- Training can take place remotely with bespoke facilitated 1-1 and group sessions
- Restriction’s permitting, there will be some face-to-face sessions available in set
locations for individuals unable to access required technology. - Best of all, learners will be able to progress at their own pace at home – so providing your practice tests are coming back at the level you are aiming for, you do not have to sign up to a specific course structure or wait for exam windows to sit an exam and gain your qualification.
Clarion creates a BSKB account for individuals where they will then have the opportunity to do 3 assessments for Maths or three assessments for English – each assessment takes 45 minutes – this is to determine what level the client is for the tutors to start work with them. This is also known as practice tests.
