Volunteers’ Week: All our Volunteers!

4th June 2020

Today’s thank you during Volunteer’s Week goes out to every single individual that has ever crossed our paths. You may be an old timer, newbie, behind the scenes, a Trustee, donor or supporter. The list could go on, but………

As a volunteer, you bring so much to this organisation – skills, advice, experience, friendship, vision, leadership and inspiration. But in these times, you also bear the gift of time. You choose to donate the most precious commodity in the known universe. We may count your time in numbers, or in cash value. However, even though such methods have their reasons, we would all be poorer if we didn’t realise that the giving of your time is simply and utterly magnificent.

So today, we take a little time out to thank you for the amazing “time in” that you give. Truly, thank you for your time!

Today we would also like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication given by Mr George Argent, our Advocate. Foodbank users have sought help through him on benefits and work capability (to name just some of the things he does). George has used his knowledge about benefits and universal credit to help and enable those, who have found themselves short changed or struggling with their claim, to successful fruition, or given them an honest evaluation of their benefit reality. George, a huge thank you from all of us at Rainham Foodbank.

Also to our Trustees, we thank you for your volunteer work. Your generosity extends not only through your leading and direction of the Foodbank but also through the help you give during the year. Thank you very much.

You are all amazing volunteers! We hope you continue to be hardworking and helpful to many. May God bless you more each day!
