Volunteers’ Week: COVID-19 Volunteers

3rd June 2020

Today, during Volunteers’ Week, we would like to thank all the people who have been able to volunteer at Rainham Foodbank throughout this worldwide pandemic, operating in various areas: the warehouse, clothes bank, inventory, delivery drivers and administration.  Volunteers generously give their time and dedication just to make nonprofit and charity organisation events or programs run smoothly. Appreciating this selfless effort from time to time helps to remind these individuals of their importance to the greater good. It is important to say thank you to all those who have helped and been able to be in a position to outweigh the risks involved with COVID-19. Some of these people are completely new volunteers that have come forward in the crisis, some are existing volunteers, some are working from home and some are furloughed from community jobs and have and will go above their regular ‘paid’ hours.

Benefits of volunteer work are not only appreciated by the community affected, but also by the volunteers themselves, in knowing that they contributed to the betterment of society in some way.

We wanted to let you know that you are doing an outstanding job and we are extremely glad with what you are doing to help others. Doing a volunteering job is a beautiful job to do. We know it has been a lot of work, but thank you so much for all the effort you have been making. Thank you for helping us to organise and sort everything.

Your acts of kindness are maybe sometimes small, but the impact they will leave in the world is huge. Volunteers like you help make the world a better place with your time and efforts. Honestly, we don’t think things would have run as smoothly without your help.

We appreciate the efforts of our volunteers who make operating such a charity possible and successful. Thank you for helping us, we are truly grateful to you.

The only way to become smarter, better, happier, livelier and wiser, is to help others – just like you are.
